Our story
Since 2018, we have not selected our Moroccan Berber rugs based on trends. Each piece is chosen for its composition, proportions, colors, material, and the quality of its craftsmanship. We are attentive to color combinations, designs, textures, and how a wool rug integrates into an interior. But aesthetics alone are not enough: we also seek beautiful wool, meticulous workmanship, and a piece that is coherent in its dimensions and proportions. Our selection is thus based on a balance between exacting standards and sensitivity, with a perspective informed by art, design, and architecture. Our goal is to offer you high-end Berber rugs, chosen with exacting standards for their quality, character, and uniqueness.
Between tradition and contemporary creation
Berber rugs carry with them a history, gestures, and know-how passed down through generations. At Les Tapis Sauvages, this heritage is our starting point, but not a limit.
We love to blend traditional techniques with a contemporary perspective: for our colorful Berber rugs, we work with new colors, imagine new patterns, and play with proportions to offer you a wide range of sizes and compositions, all while preserving the essence and richness of handmade Moroccan rugs. Some of our pieces are designed directly by usand then crafted in Morocco using traditional techniques. Berber rugs rooted in tradition, yet conceived as truly contemporary rugs for today's interiors.

We have created the Sauvage Collection, contemporary Berber rugs with exclusive designs, conceived by our team in Paris and made by our partner artisans in Morocco.
What is most important to us in creating this new collection, a blend of tradition and modernity, is preserving the materials, the craftsmanship, and the unique characteristics that make each piece one-of-a-kind. These creations allow us to explore new colors and designs, and to create rugs that perfectly embody the world of Tapis Sauvages. Our exclusive models are available in various Berber rug styles, including Azilal, M'rirt , and Kilim , and in all sizes. They can also be custom- to your exact specifications!
To perpetuate artisanal know-how
Moroccan Berber rugs are handcrafted using techniques passed down through generations. Sheep's wool, the essential raw material for many rugs, is processed and then woven or knotted according to techniques specific to different regions and traditions. The gestures, patterns, textures, and ways of working the material can therefore vary considerably from one rug to another. This artisanal production gives the rugs their distinctive character. The wool may exhibit natural variations in color and texture, while the irregularities in the weave bear witness to the hand's skill. Each rug is thus a unique piece, shaped over time by gestures and know-how that continue to be passed down. Our goal is to showcase these centuries-old skills through a selection of high-end Berber rugs, chosen for their quality, character, and uniqueness.

Les Tapis Sauvages brings together a team of passionate individuals from the worlds of contemporary art, design, and creation. These backgrounds naturally influence our perspective on rugs: colors, compositions, materials, volumes, and how a rug interacts with an interior. This sensitivity guides us both in selecting rugs and in the pieces we imagine and design. Above all, we share a love for objects with personality, texture, and a story, and a desire to showcase pieces that transcend fleeting trends. On a daily basis, we select rugs, prepare orders, answer your questions, and guide you in choosing your perfect rug. We operate on a human scale, striving to maintain a direct and personal relationship with our clients. Whether you're looking for a rug for a specific room, a particular color, or simply that unexpected inspiration, we're here to advise you.
Our showroom in Paris - a unique place
Our showroom allows you to discover our entire collection: over 1,200 rugs are on display. Beni Ouarain, Azilal, Boujaad, Mrirt, Marmoucha, Zanafi Kilims… different sizes, colors, materials, and styles are all brought together in one space so you can compare the pieces and find the perfect one for your home. You can take your time to look at the rugs, touch them, compare them, and discuss your needs with our team to refine your selection.

Alongside the rugs selected from Morocco, our Collection Sauvage features our own designs, conceived to create a dialogue between traditional techniques, materials, and a contemporary perspective.
