BENI OUARAIN BERBER CARPETS - THE CHOICE OF TRADITION AND TIMELESSNESS
Beni Ouarain Berber rugs are woven in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, originally by a Berber tribe of the same name. Beni Ouarain rugs are very thick and plush, made entirely from the wool of sheep grazing in the pastures surrounding the villages. The base of these rugs is traditionally ecru, adorned with dark brown geometric patterns. The wool is natural and untreated, and its color corresponds to that of the sheep from which it comes. Moroccan Berber rugs reflect the excellence of Moroccan craftsmanship, woven on traditional wooden looms in the mountainous regions of Morocco (High Atlas or Middle Atlas, depending on the rug type), by Berber women in their homes or working in cooperatives in remote mountain villages. All Berber rugs are made from sheep's wool and knotted. It takes between four and eight weeks to make a Berber rug, depending on the size and complexity of the designs. Beni Ouarain Berber rugs, a classic in interior design. Today, Beni Ouarain rugs are still just as thick, with a pile height ranging from 2.5 to 3 cm depending on the rug, but the pile can vary from short or smooth to longer. The rugs come in a range of colors from ecru to cream, including ivory and beige. The updated patterns are now more modern: large black and white diamonds, free-form, so-called primitive motifs, solid Beni Ouarain designs, or more contemporary polka dots. The black and white geometric patterns can also be found in contemporary shades: Majorelle blue, pink, terracotta, seafoam green, multicolored, or even fluorescent. The existing range of Beni Ouarain Berber rugs will surprise you with its diversity of patterns and colors, reflecting the expressions of the Berber women who weave them.
These rugs are now interior design classics! Original, natural, thick, and plush, they are available in all sizes: as bedside rugs, in the living room for any size sofa, and even in hallways or entryways.
