Boujaad carpets - Between tradition and modernity

Boujaad Berber rugs are woven in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, originally by a Berber tribe from the town of Boujaad. Boujaad rugs are 100% wool, woven on traditional looms. They are authentic rugs whose patterns and colors evoke vintage rugs. This authenticity also stems from the fact that Boujaad rugs are rural, more rustic than their Beni Ouarain cousins. The colors, which are very diverse, are sometimes faded, prematurely worn to give them a patina reminiscent of antique rugs. However, they are indeed new rugs, recognizable by their designs, a subtle blend of flat, faded colors and traditional Berber symbols and motifs. Boujaad rugs are intended to be a kind of dictionary of Berber symbols and patterns, easily identifiable from one rug to another. They originate from the imagination of the women who weave them, drawing on an ancestral artisanal and cultural tradition. Today, Boujaad rugs can be considered among the most creative, both for the vast range of colors used and the complexity of the patterns reproduced. Over the years, Berber rugs have become decorative classics, and whatever the design, they adapt to any interior style: industrial, Scandinavian, vintage, bohemian chic, but above all, to every room in your home. They bring softness, style, and design to your living room under your sofa and coffee table, to your bedroom, and to the children's rooms. Made from natural materials, they are durable objects; choosing a Berber rug means keeping it for years! They are now classics of interior design! Original, natural, thick, and plush, they are now available in all sizes: as bedside rugs, in the living room for any size sofa, and even in hallways or entryways. By choosing a Berber rug for your home, you contribute to the preservation of ancestral traditional skills. Interested in purchasing a Boujaad rug? A UNIQUE AND AUTHENTIC INTERIOR

 CHOOSING YOUR BOUJAAD BERBER RUG

What is a Boujaad Berber rug?

A Berber rug with warm colors and often slightly patinated, giving it a vintage look that we love!

Why do the colors vary?

In which room should a Boujaad rug be placed?

Our Boujaad Berber rugs will find their place in every room of your house: their wide variety of sizes and designs will allow you to install a rug in your living room as well as in the children's room.

Are the rugs unique?

Boujaad Berber rugs are all unique; no two are alike because they are handcrafted. However, some of our contemporary Boujaad rugs can be custom-made; contact us for more information.

This is due to the numerous washings of the rug at the end of the weaving process, which gives Boujaad Berber rugs their patinated appearance. These washing techniques are specific to the Boujaad region, where these rugs originate.
