Ancient Berber pottery from the Rif
Antique Moroccan Berber Pottery.
Handcrafted in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco,
this vintage pottery is an old inkwell.
It is made from local clay specific to the region by women who perpetuate ancestral traditions.
The designs are drawn using a goat-hair brush with natural pigments: manganese for black and iron oxide for red.
The geometric or floral patterns are traditional to Rif pottery.
