Vintage Berber rugs - The origins of Berber rugs

We offer a selection of vintage Moroccan Berber rugs: Boujaad, Talsint, Beni M'guild, Chichaoua, Azilal, Rehemna, and Boucherouite. These are all rug styles linked to the regions where they are woven. Each vintage rug has been individually sourced in Morocco during our travels. They are all personal favorites and exceptional pieces. The great diversity of antique Berber rugs makes it impossible to describe their main characteristics here, as traditional motifs and colors vary from one region to another, and from one weaver to another. Wild Carpets has selected the finest Moroccan Berber rugs for you. All our rugs are handcrafted in Morocco from sheep's wool on traditional looms. As these products are handmade, irregularities or imperfections may be present and are noted where necessary.

The exact color of the rugs may vary depending on your screen calibration. Our rugs are photographed in our warehouse under natural daylight. Each rug is photographed in detail, and the most accurate color representation can be found in the detailed photographs.  All rugs are currently in stock in Paris and are shipped within 24 hours via Chronopost. Delivery times to France are 24 to 48 hours, and to Europe, 3 to 4 days. For all other destinations, delivery takes approximately 7 days.

All our packages are shipped from our warehouse in Paris, France, so there are no customs fees for shipments within the European Union. For shipments outside the EU, customs fees may apply. Please feel free to contact us for any further information on this matter.

If the rug doesn't suit you, returns are accepted within 14 days. You can exercise your right of withdrawal, without giving a reason, and return your rug, preferably in its original packaging and unused. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Upon receipt of your rug, you will be refunded within 72 hours.

As these are handcrafted items, it is possible that a rug may have a defect that escaped our notice. If the rug is defective or damaged during shipping, the return shipping costs will be covered.

Your rugs are delivered clean and cleaned (new and old rugs). For routine maintenance of your rugs, we recommend vacuuming without the broom brush (vacuuming only), as the brush may rake the rug and gradually remove wool fibers.

In case of a stain, we advise you to dry it as quickly and thoroughly as possible with absorbent paper to remove any excess moisture from both the top and underside of the rug. We recommend wetting the stain as soon as possible with cold water only, then lathering it with Marseille soap or a mild detergent, working it into a lather, and rinsing with cold water. This process can be repeated until the stain disappears.

For occasional deep cleaning, you can contact your dry cleaner, who will then send your rug to a specialist carpet cleaning company. The cost of this type of cleaning is calculated per square meter. Feel free to contact us if you would like us to recommend a service provider.
