M'rirt Berber Rugs - The High End M'rirt (or Beni M'rirt) Berber rugs are made in the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region of the Middle Atlas Mountains in central Morocco. They are the most prestigious and high-end of Moroccan Berber rugs. The weave is particularly tight, resulting in a denser rug. Consequently, a larger quantity of wool is needed to weave a single rug. M'rirt rugs are also washed and brushed after weaving, giving them a silky, velvety feel. They are very thick and plush and feature patterns similar to Beni Ouarain rugs.
