Boujaad Rugs - Between Tradition and Modernity.
Boujaad Berber rugs are woven in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, originally by a Berber tribe from the town of Boujaad. Boujaad rugs are 100% wool rugs woven on traditional looms. They are authentic rugs whose patterns and colors are reminiscent of vintage rugs. This authenticity also stems from the fact that Boujaad rugs are rural rugs, more rustic than their Beni Ouarain cousins. The colors, very diverse, are sometimes faded, prematurely worn to give them a patina that evokes antique rugs. However, they are indeed new rugs, recognizable by their designs, a subtle blend of flat, faded colors and traditional Berber symbols and patterns. Boujaad rugs are intended to be a kind of dictionary of Berber symbols and motifs, easily identifiable from one rug to another. They originate from the imagination of the women who weave them, drawing on an ancestral artisanal and cultural tradition.DELIVERY
